SBR plants are a variation of the biological WWTP with aeration, in conformity with the European norm EN 12566-3, and the second part of DIN 4261. They are used for treating communal wastewaters for small hotels, restaurants, and objects with variable hydraulic load.
GENERAL
FUNCTION PRINCIPLE
Water Treatment in SBR unit is a process consisting of 3 cycles per day, and 4 phases per cycle.
Phases are:
• the admission of waste water in SBR reactor. The waste water from the pre-treated part flows in the SBR reactor.
• Aeration
One immersed blower supplies the needed amount of oxygen for the microorganisms. That microorganisms in the water are decomposing the biomaterials from the waste water.
• Sedimentation
In the sedimentation phase the enriching of air with oxygen stops and the sludge is accumulated on the bottom of the unit. A layer of clean water appears in the upper zone.
• Drain of percolated water, outlet – the layer of percolated water is being drained into the recipient by using the mammoth pump.
Every cycle lasts for 8 hours, 3 cycles per day. Formed active sludge is pumped in the primary settlement tank and if necessary, neutralized together with the sludge from the primary settlement tank. For the filling we are using the sludge pumps of the SBR reactor.
